Those who know me through my blog or otherwise know my obsession with Victoria Beckham, so whenever the singer turned designer is out with her new collection I for sure make it a point not to miss it. Many critics deem her designs to be stiff, matronly or copied but to me they define class and style which is synonymous only to Posh. She has slowly created a name for herself in this extremely competitive industry and ensured that she is taken seriously. Her designs are true to her style and she has definitely managed to create her own niche with her signature dresses. What I love about her clothes is that they define her and seem like an extension of her image. Clean cuts, non fussy silhouettes quite reminiscent of 60s era of classic beauties like Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Jackie O but with a modern twist.
The best thing about her designs is that they are very very wearable which is proven by her own self as she is the best exponent of her own creation. Targeted towards today’s modern working woman , her color palette is usually sober and subdued neutrals but she also smartly throws in some colors like cobalt blue, oxblood, yellow, Red in her dominant blacks, camel, taupe, navy, white combinations. Her penchant for minimalism and chicness is what drives me towards her.
She just concluded with her show at NYFW and showcased her Fall RTW 2013 collection for both Victoria Beckham and her so called Pret line Victoria and it was screaming VB. Especially loved the beanies which I am so gonna buy for myself this winter… errr definitely not from VB though A look at VICTORIA & Victoria Beckham F/W 2013 collection shows that she is quite adept at what she does.
Her luxury label Victoria Beckham showcased more linear mens inspired range and the coats were the highlights of the collection. She has digressed from her usually feminine style in this collection. The textures were exquisite and very high quality like every time & I particularly love the collars of all VB collections. Last year they were pointed and strong, this year she has a different take on them. Now if some high street brand would come out with such collars soon ;-) What I also love is the hint of color in Turtle necks. It’s subtle and very classy. Also love the pony hair texture on the dresses.
Seen in one of her own designs makes me crave for this shirt seen on VB. She can seriously make anything look good on her.
A look at her VICTORIA Spring Summer 2013 which should be hitting the stores soon. Again dominated by a neutral color – White she adds a bright Red to the palette. Pay special attention to the gladiator sandals created by Manolo Blahnik for the collection. They are so cool.
VB seen in her own
Isn’t she fab!! my only gripe with her is that everything is so ridiculously expensive
