Steel Magnolia by Anju Modi

I usually don’t post much on Sundays but I was blown away by Anju Modi’s recent collection at WIFW 2013 so I had to bring it to you guys.
Fragility of a woman’s sensuousness  coupled with her inner strength brought out so beautifully in this collection. I loved the wonderful & fresh take on fashion which so seamlessly interweaves Global trend (read as military trend and layering) with Indian sensibilities.
Highlights of the show:
Besides the steel ramp, Beautiful color combinations, Military detailing seen on softer fabrics, Embroidery on tweeds (looks like tweed, can’t make out clearly from the pic) , the choice of textures that gave an International appeal to the look and those adorable Netaji inspired caps were some of the highlights for me. What totally got me going was the right amount of West mixed with gorgeous Indian garments. Something different Something fresh other than the usual sheer sarees, backless blouses and floor grazing Anarkalis. Something I would love to see on the Red Carpet. Stylists pls make note. Even the men look dapper in their  bandhgalas.
Inspired by Armed forces she brings to us one of the most spectacular collection seen in this fashion week. Made me sit up on my seat and say WOW.
