Stay Inspired – Get CARRIEd away :-)

So what have I been busy with !!  Believe it or not I am watching the 100th re – run of Sex and the City. Ok Ok i am over exaggerating must be the 70th one at least. Watching Carrie Bradshaw is such a delight that it takes the edge off when chips are down and immediately relaxes me. I feel my dysfunctional brain starts to function better after I have seen the four friends discuss everything from men, sex,  relationships, herpes, crabs, shoes, bags and their relentless quest to find love with Manhattan as the perfect backdrop. It is funny , heartwarming and sometimes heartbreaking. As much as I love to keep a tab on Carrie’s next article lines which sometimes are funny and sometimes soul stirring, the real reason to watch it is the fashion inspiration one derives from my all time screen style icon - Carrie Bradshaw. I know I know very cliched but very true!!
A fashion conscious girl living in a big city spending copious amount of money to feed her shoe  & clothes frenzy and justifying it by giving us timeless quotes like “I like my money where I can see it – hanging in the closet” Can you identify with this girl. Well, I surely can :-)
Carrie taught us a lot about fashion. She introduced us to Manolos , Jimmy Choos & Christian Louboutins. I learnt most of my fashion brands and vocab from her. Haven’t most of you secretly taken an SATC quiz and wished to get Carrie’s sense of style as your answer. I would be lying if I said NO.
So much so that when I bought my first pair of Manolos I dedicated it to her and created a separate space for them in my shoe closet – full on SATC style. Remember the $500 shoes that ultimately brings Big & her together! Her love for fashion and style is evident from very famous SATC quotes
When I first moved to New York and I was totally broke, sometimes I would buy Vogue instead of dinner. I felt it fed me more.”
“The fact is, sometimes it’s really hard to walk in a single woman’s shoes. That’s why we need really special ones now and then to make the walk a little more fun”
“I’ve spent $40,000 on shoes and I have no place to live? I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!”
What I love about Carrie is that she certainly is flawed but pretty much relatable and she makes you fall in love with her due to the self deprecating humor with which she handles relationships in her life. She is a realist but at the same time a true romantic at heart.

Carrie changed the rules and taught us to experiment and be fearless with fashion. She often mixes vintage pieces with high end labels. As the seasons progress we also see Carrie’s style transformation but let me tell you it has never once been a dull moment. Here are some of my best Carrie Style moments that totally inspire me. Thought of sharing them with u all.

She is so adorable that I wish I could be friends with her :-) Getting back to watching some more SATC. Have a great day people.
