Hello Tangerine

I have been dancing all around wearing my brightest Orange MAC Morange lipstick these days You know why??
Because Tangerine Orange has been declared the Pantone Shade of the year, so expect a lot of Orange girls. See my post on From Runways to our daily lives .We are already seeing it everywhere in the stores. Why not incorporate it in our make – up. Its a bright and happy shade and best for summers. Time to do the Tangerine Tango.

The model is wearing Loreal colour Riche #410

Bright lips are the flavor of the season ( Check out my post on Get Bold Get Bright) and everyone seems to be wearing them on the runways but it was more of Orange seen this season on the runways instead of Red lips.
Orange is a good change if you are apprehensive about Reds. Tangerine is a bright reddish orange and a beautiful shade

You know what’s the best thing about Orange??
It flatters almost any skin tone. It gives an instant warmth with a pop of colour. However it is important to find the shade that suits you the most.

A general thumb rule is Lighter your skin tone brighter the shade and vice versa

But who says you can’t break the rules so try out dark, light anything as long as you are comfortable wearing them and yes you look good in them.
If bold colors are not your scene try with a lighter version of orange like Corals and Peaches to begin with or try lip glosses in orange.

How to wear Orange??
What is extremely important with any bright color and therefore with Orange is to keep the rest of the face as subtle as possible. Its a risqué color so be careful not to overdo your face.
A light bronzer or a peach blush on your face, liquid eyeliner, mascara and Orange lips that’s it.
If at all you want to go for an eyeshadow add a hint of gold on your eyelids and the inner corner for a little pop. Or just go with a light brown eyeshadow and a little shimmer on the brow bone.
Let your lips do the talking

Some other things to know :
Orange or any bright color should NOT be shimmery. It looks the best with a little matte effect so ensure your lipstick doesn’t have a shimmer. Leave the dewiness to ur skin not the lips.
Use a tissue to blot the lipstick and then re apply. It will stay longer.
Incase of some orange colors that do not bleed you can chuck the lip liner but for people like me who cannot do without a lip liner, I use the shade closer to my lip color and then fill my lips with the color.
I also use my fingers to smudge the color and press it a little bit so that it spreads evenly and does not look extreme.
At all times keep your eye make up simple and you are good to go.

How gorgeous is this shade and Did you notice how subtle the rest of the face is.

My Tip : it is important to have strong brows with brighter lip shades. Shape and fill your brow perfectly and see the difference.

My Top 5 picks for bright Orange Lips

1. MAC Morange – $20
2. NARS Heat Wave – $25
3. Givenchy Rouge Interdit in Candide Tangerine -$29
4. Illamasqua Flare – $26
5. Bobby Brown Atomic Orange – $24

But if you are terrified to try out these bright ones go for softer coral shades

If you still not sure Try the Orange Lip glosses

But there is nothing to be afraid of. This color does suit all unlike REDs. Just need to find ur shade.
